We are happy to announce that CP7 researcher Teun Baar at OCÉ had a successful mid term evaluation on April 1, 2014, for the research and training done till now in this PhD. The aim of his work done till now was to control additional channels to current printing systems that are introduced next to the standard CMYK colour channels, and to create a system to translate multi-dimensional image data to actual printouts. Such multi-channel images contain, for example, information of spectral colour, 3D surface or relief, or local reflectance functions. His work mainly did concentrate on the extra dimension being the z-axis, by controlling the surface modulation of the printout, influencing the reflection properties of the print surface. In the near future, the work should result in a journal publication.
