Experienced Researcher position at GUC

The Norwegian Colour and Visual Computing Laboratory at the Faculty of Computer Science and Media Technology in Gjøvik University College invites applications for a 2-year full-time Experienced Researcher (ER) position within the CP7.0 Project.

The recruited researcher will work in a dynamic high-level international research environment within the Colourlab, at the premises of Gjøvik University College, and in close collaboration with other researchers from the CP7.0 network. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience with colour imaging and printing workflows, a strong scientific background, and be a habile programmer.

The position will be based at GUC, but the candidate will also spend short secondments/visits to several project partners, to amongst other things provide training for less experienced project members in programming and workflow implementation, to exploit various application areas such as fine art reproduction and spectral proofing, and to participate in a rich program of organized research training activities within the project.

Teun Baar accepts PhD position at Océ

Teun Baar has accepted the offer for a PhD position at Océ. He will work on “Optimization of Print Quality” under the supervision of Dr. Nicolas Bonnier. Tuen Baar holds a MSc Applied Physics, specialised in Image Processing, and a BSc Applied Physics, both from Delft University of Technology. We welcome Teun Baar to CP7.0 and to Océ.

Radovan Slavuj joins GUC as a PhD student

Radovan Slavuj has accepted the offer for a PhD position at Gjøvik University College. He will work on “Spectral Modelling for multi-channel printers and displays” under the supervision of Prof. Jon Yngve Hardeberg. Radovan’s educational background is in computational and graphic engineering and he is  holding Engineering (MSc) degree from Faculty of Technical Sciences (University of Novi Sad), Serbia, as well as MSc in Digital Colour Imaging from London College of Communication. His research interests are in color management with utilization of both conventional and multispectral approaches. We welcome Radovan to CP7.0 and to Gjøvik University College.

Steven Le Moan join TUD as a Post-Doc

Steven Le Moan has accepted the position as an experienced researcher (post-doc) at the Technische Universität Darmstadt. He will work on image quality under the supervision of Dr. Philip Urban. Steven Le Moan received both his Engineer and MSc degrees in signal processing in 2009 from the Université de Rennes 1, France. He is currently working towards the PhD degree at the Laboratoire d’Electronique, Informatique et Image (Université de Bourgogne, France) and in collaboration with the Norwegian Color Research Laboratory (Gjøvik University College, Norway). His research is mainly focused on multispectral imagery, dimensionality reduction and visualization. We welcome Steven Le Moan to the CP7.0 community.

Melissa Olen joins UWE as a PhD student

Melissa Olen has accepted the position as a PhD student with the University of the West of England. She will work on the topic “Applications in Fine Arts” under the supervision of Dr. Carinna Parraman. Melissa Olen holds a BFA in Photographic Illustration from the Rochester Institute of Technology and an MA in Multi-Disciplinary Printmaking from the University of the West of England. Additionally her professional work experience has covered extensive work in image preparation and production in the photographic, fine art, and commercial digital markets. The CP7.0 consortium welcomes Melissa Olen.

Paula Žitinski Elías joins Linköping University as a PhD student

Paula Žitinski Elías has accepted the position as a PhD student with Linköping University. She will work on the topic “Halftoning and tonal reproduction” under the supervision of Dr. Daniel Nyström. Paula holds a Bachelor in Graphic Technology and a Master in Graphic Technology  from the University of Zagreb, and a Master in Investigation in Computer Science from Complutense University of Madrid .The CP7.0 consortium welcomes Paula Žitinski Elías.

Sepideh Samadzadegan accepts position at TUD

Sepideh Samadzadegan has accepted the position as a PhD student at the Technische Universität Darmstadt. She will work on “Spectral gamut prediction and mapping” under the supervision of Dr. Phillip Urban. Sepideh Samadzadegan holds a Bachelor in Computer Engineering from the Islamic Azad University in Iran and a  master degree from Linköping University in Sweden in Advanced Computer Graphics (Media Technology and Engineering). The CP7.0 consortium welcomes Sepideh Samadzadegan.

G M Atiqur Rahaman has accepted the offer for a PhD position at Voxvil AB.  He will work on the topic “paper optical and surface properties” msp generator no survey under the supervision of Ole Norberg. G M Atiqur Rahaman holds a master degree in  Color in Informatics and Media Technology (CIMET) and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering from Khulna University, Bangladesh.
